Privacy Policy
Imogen Pro is a Mac app for making and organizing AI-generated images and video. It's built so that your work stays yours: there's no account, no analytics and no tracking.
The short version
- We don't collect personal data. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking in the app or on this website.
- Your projects are ordinary folders on your Mac. We never see them.
- When you generate, your prompt and reference files go directly from your Mac to the AI provider you chose, using your own API key, under that provider's terms.
- Tagging and search run on your Mac.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We don't receive your payment details.
1. Who we are
Imogen Pro is developed by AI OR DIE PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Imogen Pro app for Mac and the website at imogenpro.com. If you have a question about it, email support@imogenpro.com.
2. What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. Imogen Pro has no sign-in and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't send us your prompts, files, library, API keys or usage. We don't sell or share personal data, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
The only personal information we receive is what you choose to send us, for example when you email support.
3. What stays on your Mac
- Projects and media. A project is a normal folder that you choose. Imogen Pro keeps its index (tags, captions, cost records and settings for that project) in a hidden
.imogenprofolder inside it, and stores each generated file's prompt, model, settings and cost in the file's extended attributes so the information travels with the file. - API keys and the MCP access token are stored in your macOS keychain.
- Your free-generation count is stored on your Mac, in your keychain and the app's settings. A copy is also kept in your iCloud account's key-value storage (see below).
- App settings (such as your list of projects, custom prices and preferences) are stored in the app's container on your Mac.
This information isn't uploaded to us. If you back up your Mac or sync folders with a service such as iCloud Drive, that service's terms apply to those copies.
The free-generation count in iCloud. If you're signed in to iCloud, Imogen Pro saves a small record in your iCloud account's key-value storage, so your free generations are shared between your Macs and aren't reset by reinstalling. The record holds a random identifier for each Mac (not your Mac's serial number or name) and how many free generations it has used. Apple stores it in your iCloud account under its terms; we can't see it.
4. AI providers you choose
Imogen Pro doesn't generate media itself (apart from Apple's on-device tools). When you generate, upscale or run another cloud tool, the app sends the request directly from your Mac to the provider you selected, authenticated with your own API key. A request can include:
- your prompt and the generation settings you chose;
- any reference images, video or audio you attached, and the file being upscaled or processed;
- for references, the short descriptions Imogen Pro adds to the prompt (for example “Image 1 is the character reference for @Maya”), if that setting is on.
The provider returns the result, which Imogen Pro saves into your project. The data you send is handled by that provider under its terms of service and privacy policy, through the account you created with it. Providers may keep requests for a time, for example for abuse monitoring, and their policies explain how. Imogen Pro only contacts a cloud provider after you've added your own key for it, and nothing passes through our servers.

The list changes as providers release and retire models. Each provider's setup guide in Imogen Pro (Settings → Providers) links to its console and documentation; please read its privacy policy and terms before adding a key.
5. Optional file hosting with fal.ai
A few APIs only accept files by public link — for example reference videos for some video models, and ByteDance's MediaKit upscaling. If you've saved a fal.ai key and the File Hosting setting is on (Settings → General), Imogen Pro uploads just those files to fal.ai's storage so the other provider can fetch them, and fal.ai deletes them after 24 hours. Everything else is sent directly. You can turn File Hosting off at any time.
6. On-device analysis
Imogen Pro tags your media so you can search it: Apple Intelligence captions and tags, Vision object and scene classification, recognized text, dominant colors and keywords from prompts. All of this runs on your Mac, and nothing is uploaded. Apple's on-device super resolution and frame interpolation also run entirely on your Mac.
7. Price list and model catalog
To keep cost estimates and the list of models current, Imogen Pro downloads a public price list and model catalog from imogenpro.com about once a day, and when you click Refresh in Settings → Pricing. These requests contain no account, identifier or information about your library — only what every web request carries, such as your IP address and the app's user agent, which our server uses to send the file back. We don't log these requests.
8. Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are sold and processed by Apple through the Mac App Store, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We don't receive your name, email address or payment details. The app asks Apple's StoreKit on your Mac whether you have an active purchase so it can unlock unlimited generations. Apple gives developers sales and subscription reports through App Store Connect, which we use to run the business.
9. AI assistants (MCP)
Imogen Pro includes an optional Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so assistants such as Claude can work with your library. It's off until you turn it on in Settings → MCP. It listens only on your Mac (127.0.0.1), requires an access token, and you control whether assistants may start generations that cost money.
When you connect an assistant, the information it reads through Imogen Pro — such as file names, prompts, tags, captions and previews — is sent to that assistant and its provider (for example Anthropic for Claude) under their terms and privacy policy. Only connect assistants you trust.
10. Notifications and crash reports
Notifications, such as “Video ready”, are created on your Mac; nothing is sent to a push service. Imogen Pro has no crash reporting of its own. If you've chosen to share crash and usage data with app developers in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports with us. These don't include your media or prompts.
11. This website and email
imogenpro.com is a static website. It uses no cookies, analytics, trackers or third-party scripts or fonts. If you pause the home page's motion, your browser remembers that choice on your device (in its local storage); it isn't sent to us. The site is hosted on a server we rent from Akamai (Linode). The web server doesn't keep access logs. Like most web servers, it keeps an error log for troubleshooting, which can include the IP address of a request that failed; that log is deleted automatically after about two weeks.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and to help you, and we keep the conversation only as long as it's useful for supporting you. Email to support@imogenpro.com passes through our domain registrar's email forwarding service (Squarespace, which uses Mailgun) on its way to our mailbox.
12. Children
Imogen Pro isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. AI providers set their own minimum ages for their services — often 18 — and you need an account with a provider to generate.
13. Your choices and rights
Because we don't hold personal data about you, there's usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Your data is under your control on your Mac:
- Delete a project by deleting its folder. Remove a project from the sidebar without deleting files with Remove from Imogen Pro.
- Remove an API key in Settings → Providers. This deletes it from your keychain.
- Turn off File Hosting, automatic tagging or the MCP server in Settings at any time.
- To remove all app data, delete Imogen Pro and its container folder (
~/Library/Containers/com.aiod.ImogenPro), and delete the “Imogen Pro” items in Keychain Access.
For data you've sent to an AI provider, contact that provider. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or you have any other privacy request, email support@imogenpro.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
14. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects what happens to your data, we'll also say so in the app's release notes.
